I was born in 1965 in Poland. I hold a Master’s degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland and obtained my diploma in Painting in 1991. My creative path led from realism to abstract art. I am active in the field of painting, drawing and contemporary tapestry.

My first large exhibition of abstract art took place at the Palace of Arts in Krakow in 1995 and was entitled “The Chain Links”. By this title, I wanted to suggest a connection between individual separate paintings, just as the links of the chain connect with each other. Each painting as the chain link symbolizes an internal event that makes up my personality. I started to form this chain at my first exhibition in Cracow, and I have been continuing it up till now.
I specified the creed for my work on the occasion of my individual exhibition in Gliwice in 2001, entitled “YOU AND ME, WE”. My abstract painting “Coexistence” was the main theme of this exhibition. This thread is still relevant to me, because the composition in each of my paintings is based on the coexistence of color spots and textures, and I see it as a symbolic reference to human existence:
YOU AND ME, WE
Two loving people are one part of the world.
You and me – we are part of the world. We coexist.
You exist in my consciousness.
You exist in my subconscious, you enter my thoughts and dreams.
You are the part of my soul, my imagination, my mind.
COEXISTENCE of
people
nations
worldviews,
religions,
old and young,
wise and foolish,
short and tall,
rich and poor …
COEXISTENCE OF COLORS.
Unique variety of nature.
Light and dark
awareness and unawareness,
earth and sky,
water and air,
great and small
known and unknown,
… and a whole range of intermediate things,
just as the number of colors and halftones is incredible,
that’s how thoughts crowd in between light and dark thoughts
in less strong shades …
Painting is a way of thinking.
Painting is freedom, freedom of choice.
Instead of putting your thoughts into words, you can put them into colors.
I convey my thoughts using colors.
Colors are signs that are understood subconsciously.
Shown in a certain order in the painting,
they create a supra-linguistic and direct message.
Therefore, the paintings can be a message …
of COEXISTENCE and FREEDOM.
My paintings are diverse and have different titles, but the concepts of freedom and coexistence are essential to me and are the foundation of each subsequent painting.
For several years now, I have preferred the acrylic painting technique on canvas.
My paintings are being created by applying multiple layers and brush traces that form different textures.
Beside acrylic painting I use the oil technique where I like impasto.
I create small composition sketches on paper as well.
I am a qualified teacher in artistic secondary education, where I have been teaching drawing, painting and traditional gilding techniques for 23 years.
Moreover, I have been leading sociotherapeutic workshops in the field of culture and art at an addiction treatment centre in the city of Gliwice for 12 years.
